Amino Acid Analysis Service

Ansynth Service B.V. has a vast experience in amino acid analysis both within the physiological as well as in the industrial field. Analyses are performed using Biochrom's dedicated amino acid analysers, each equiped with a Ninhydrin detection system.

Samples originating from GMP production processes are analysed according to the relevant Ph. Eur. monographs, normally involving only the common amino acids. In those cases where GMP-guidelines are not mandatory samples are tested against a standard solution containing 39 amino acids and related compounds. Whenever required testing for additional compounds is performed. If applicable samples can also be tested according to a specially developed HPLC-method to accurately estimate Tryptophan and Tryptophan derivates (Indoles).
Next to the GMP/GcLP based QC-analyses we also perform custom based analyses and methode development. Therefore we are also able to analyse special amino-compounds such as Albiziin, δ-Amino-levulinic Acid, Desmosine, Diaminobutiric Acid (DAB), Galactosamine, Glucosamine, Glutathion (oxidized and reduced), Furosine, Hydroxylysine, Hydroxyproline, Taurine, Hypotaurine, Isodesmosine, Lysinoalanine, Methionine Sulfone, Methionine Sulfoxide, Ornithine, Pipecolic Acid, Saccharopine, Threoninol, etc... In fact any primary or secondary amine is a potential candidate for amino acid analysis.
Furthermore we can estimate the mentioned compounds in a vast number of products:

• Physiological samples (plasma, serum, urine, liquor, amniotic fluid, etc...)
• Fruit juices, soft drinks, beer, wort, dairy products and many other foodstuffs
• Substrates and culture media
• Feed, fodder and silage
• Leaves, petals and seeds
• Protein or peptide based pharmaceutical products
• Synthetic peptides

Analysis results will be presented by means of a certificate of analysis, checked and signed by a member of our Quality Assurance Unit. Analysis results in physiological fluids will be given with normal range values, and if necessary an expert judgement by a clinical chemist specialized in the metabolic field can be provided. Where applicable the CoA will be in the format and layout of your choise. CoA's will be sent by regular postal service and by fax, usually within 2 - 5 working days after receipt of the samples. If required results are also sent by e-mail, in a format ready to import into your data management system. Turn around times depend on number of samples and types of analyses to be performed, but will normally never extend a period of 10 working days. Of course all data will always be handled with the utmost confidentiallity.
